The stomach flu strikes again....hoping Ally feels better VERY SOON! Tomorrow is SHOW & TELL and it's ANYTHING your little one wants to bring! We enjoyed our morning full of fun! We enjoyed the ponies and dress up clothes again for Free Play Time after breakfast. For our Calendar/Circle Time, we focused on animals in the artic. We read a book about the Artic Animals and how they keep warm in the cold, cold weather. We worked on our songs and fingerplays about making snowmen, too! We even walked around like Polar Bears on all fours! That was pretty silly! A new song we learned today, was called Snowflake, Snowflake! For our Project Time, we worked on our Portfolios

Despite the flu bug being in our house...we have had a really good day!!! The weather was warm enough this morning and we spent a good 30 minutes outside playing and running in the fresh air!!! We FINALLY have our January Book Club Flyers...I will send them home today. If you would like to order, please do so by FRIDAY, so that the books can get here before any holidays (Groundhog's Day, Valentine's Day)!! Don't forget our FREE BOOK OFFER for those that order each month!!! You can order online (which gives you another free book) or you can give me the flyer with a check...either way is fine! We had a great SNOWY day, without the snow! We made snowmen, but before we made them, we made SNOWBALLS and had fun throwing them!!! The snowmen are VERY cute and we learned a VERY FUNNY song about snowmen, too! Have a great day and pray the flu bug only wants to take ONE victim do
Artic was our topic and the cold weather fits!! That sun sure is tricky!! We talked about glaciers, winter weather, winter clothing and SLEDDING!! Too bad we don't have anymore snow on the ground to go sledding with!! We hope we will have some later to enjoy our hills some more! We worked on our Faith Lesson today and talked about how Jesus provided and how the little boy shared his lunch. We made phenomenal fish today for our project! We colored them and then glued candy wrappers on them to make them have 'fins'! With more indoor play time these days, we had fun with the Kitchen Area, the Mega Blocks, the Horses and Ponies and since the dress up clothes were such a hit yesterday, we pulled those back out too! We had Spiderman, a ninja, Bumblebee, a cowboy and Darth Vader here this morning!!
EVERYONE was back today!!! Yea! Due to my health, as I stated last week, we bypassed the library and we are sticking close to home until things are a little more under control. But that was absolutely fine by me and the kids. It was just so nice to have everyone back, and with our cold winter day, we stayed inside and played our little hearts out! We had fun with dress up clothes, cars, mailboxes and of course, the Little People! The maracas got a lot of use today as we all worked on 'shaking it'! We introduced the Number 12 and worked on the Letter N. We also talked about the COLD winter weather and our song was PERFECT today, it was titled, Friends Are Here. Heath came home at lunchtime and then was off to cut wood, the kiddos always like to see hi
As always, nothing is every set in stone here!!! Okay, with my issues, Harrison and Tori gone and not able to be my 'helpers', the yucky and dreary weather that isn't too nice for outdoor fun and the yuck 'scare' of influenca running wild...I truly felt it was best to postpone our WINTER FIELDTRIP. I just think it would be best to steer clear of the mall play areas when such sicknesses are out and about. Another factor in the decision was some extra whines today. Not sure if kiddos are feeling a little under the weather, the change in routines because of yesterday or just age related (two and nearing), but we had some issues with nice touches, sharing and melt downs today. ;0( The life of a toddler is NEVER boring! We were able to have fun interwined into our day, though! ;-) We got out the pots and pans and ended our fun with Kids In The Kitchen with LOTS of 'kitchen tunes'! We reviewed are topic cards, vocabulary and Spanish words, too! Everyone always has fun with Show and Tell! Zoe had fun with her baby, and as convinced she had a stinky all morning! Drew had fun with his baseball mit and Corbin's book was sooo cute! We read it and the kids loved the magnets to go along with it! Have a great weekend! Ally and Kaitlyn will return on Monday!!!
Have you been outside yet??? We have!!! The breeze was a little chilly, but we did get out and enjoy the sunshine and warmer weather!!!
REMINDERS: NO DAYCARE TOMORROW, IF I WOULD BE BACK HOME BY NOON, DOES ANYONE WANT ME TO CALL YOU FOR AFTERNOON DAYCARE? (If not, I'm going to try my luck at the DMV and get my license renewed....joys of birthdays). SHOW & TELL on FRIDAY (something blue). WINTER FIELDTRIP on FRIDAY!!! (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL OF YOUR WINTER OUTDOOR WEAR...not positive on our plans yet, but if it is nice, it will involve the outdoors!!! ;0) We introduced the octagon shape and said it in Spanish, too! We talked about grocery shopping too, and sang a fun song called Grocery Shopping! For our project, we made Dancing Snowflakes!! We colored them, tore streamers and glued snowflakes.... What a GrEaT day!!! First of all, Corbin brought in balloons for my birthday so EVERYONE had fun playing with balloons during our morning free play time! It was non stop giggles this morning! Thank you so VERY much!!! For Calendar and Circle Time, we talked about cleaning up when in the kitchen. We later got out sponges to "clean" with! The kids were EXCELLENT little cleaners!!! Today was also our Faith Lesson, so we introduced this month's lesson and read the bible story, Jesus Feeds 5000. We had some fun songs to sing along with our lesson and, as always, the kids are awesome with their prayers! We are getting VERY loud with our AMEN at the end! ;-) For our project, the kids made baskets, colored two fish and five loaves of bread and put them in their baskets. We also practiced writing our names on our Rebus Reader Bible Story! That's not all, with this GORGEOUS day, we've already gotten to go outside and play! We had fun on the little hill sledding and we also walked down to get the mail. We saw 8 pheasants, 2 bluejays, 1 cardinal, 1 dog and
We are lovin' our Monday!!! Unfortunately, we had a change in plans with our library visit (as I am sure you noticed at drop off this morning that I didn't have a car)! Heath took the Saturn so he could do a few things after work, and the good ol' plow truck just doesn't work for us going into Ely! :0( We still had fun and enjoyed our morning together! It wasn't a typical "Monday" and everyone had a great morning and played so well together! They are doing great with sharing and taking turns! :0) We introduced the Number 11 and talked about more Kitchen Fun! We enjoyed playing with the kitchen and cash register during our free play time. We also talked about snow and snowflakes and even Zoe was wearing a snowflake shirt to talk about!! We worked our new sign language word, cold and we searched for things that were blue! Due to the windchill being at 15 when it was our outdoor time, we didn't get to get outside this morning. The wind chill is slowly creeping higher, so we are hopeful to get out this afternoon! Have a FANTASTIC MONDAY!!!!
HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I hope everyone is staying warm, burr and double burr outside!!! Too cold for us to go out, hoping it will warm up like they are predicting for next week so that we can go outside and play in the snow!! I STILL have not received the book orders, IF they come, I will put them in cubbies, if not, I will extend our book club order that is due next Thursday. We had a fun Friday of more Snow Talk and Cooking Fun! We talked more about the color blue and we read two winter books, Footprints in the Snow and Winter Friends during Circle Time. For our project today, we worked on our Clifford Magazine. We had to find animals that were hiding in the snow! The kids LOVE to hold their pencils and work on writing their names!!
Good news, Kaitlyn was done with surgery in 30 minutes and is in her hospital room now. Jen said she did drink a little, but really sore throat! Hoping that the next week goes fast for them all!! The kids and I made a card that Tori and I will take to her tonight! We had a small group and we were supposed to work on our Handprint Page for our portfolios, but decided to switch it up some and work on our other pages so that we can do our Handprint Pages when all of our friends are back with us (less work for me to pull out paints and get really messy only once)!! We talked more about the kitchen and learned two new spanish words, blue and food (azul and comida). The kids are so eager to sit down for Circle and Calendar Time...I just LOVE IT!!! We read our new BLUE book and also read The Big Hungry Bear. For our free play time, we had the kitchen foods out and we played with Tori's McDonald's cash register...that was a hit!!! Pots, pans and wo
