HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! Some days I feel like a zoo keeper and today was DEFINITELY one of them! I had an owl, chicken, lion, duck and a monkey here today!!! THE most ADORABLE little animals I have seen in a VERY long time!! Everyone had fun in their costumes, but we did take them off, as some kids were getting hot, some seemed irritated and we just thought taking them off would make everyone a little more comfortable! We hope to put them back on after naps so they are ready to trick or treat with their families! Before I forget, everyone has a goody bag to take home, the glow stick bracelets that are taped to the outside have a SMALL plastic connector piece on the INSIDE of the bag!! Just crack them and shake them and they will be glowing all night long! We all made a FIVE LITTLE PUMPKINS craft sheet today, too! I will send out an email shortly wi

More Halloween songs and fun today!!! We love reading all of our Hallween stories! We even listed to a book on CD, Where's My Mummy? We talked about pumpkins, carving them and what they feel like on the inside! Ooey and gooey! We learned a rhyme, Planting a Pumpkin, too. Since we had an extra Tuesday this month, we didn't have an actual Faith Lesson, but we took the time to review our Faith Lesson Focus and reread our book for the month. Since tomorrow is going to be a silly and wacky day of Halloween fun, we made our Harvest Door Bedroom Hangers for our project. We did get outside, but just for a little while today, that wind was REALLY cold!!! Once we hit that fresh, cool air, the little nose faucets came on and I had a hard time keeping up with 4 of them!!! BURRRR. We had extra indoor free play time and enjoyed the Thomas Trains and Track and the Potato Heads! Everyone ate a great lunch and were ready to crash for naps! Have a
Full Moon Monday hasn't had too bad of an effect (so far)!!! YEA!!! Unfortunately, our bug has struck again and Corbin stayed home today. Even though we had a pretty good day and we only had 4 kiddos here this morning, we bypassed library time. We had a couple of really runny, yucky noses and we didn't think we should be spreading 'our love' around to the other toddlers in the neighborhood. We did, however, enjoy this beautiful morning outside! It was simply gorgeous outside! There was a little breeze, but it wasn't too bad and I thought the kids could really use some good ol' fresh air to help air out the germs! ;0) The swing set was THE place to play today! They had soo much fun on the swings! We've also been doing some 'exercises' before we head inside. At the end of our outdoor time, we all gather together under the tree and we do jumping jacks, ski jumps, standing on one foot, then the other and running in place! Believe it or not, they do a GREAT job of trying at this! It's kinda cute to watch them att
In case you have already read the November Newsletter online, I did just add one more heading (winter heat). We had a GREAT Friday and we enjoyed having Aiden here to play this morning! Him and Zoe have already left to head to Chicago for the weekend. Everyone else is snoozing away. We played hard this morning and we did get outside...it was chilly, but we bundled up and got out for a good half hour! Little ones are learning to keep their hats and mittens on and manuevering around in their bulkier winter coats! Triangle sharing was EXCELLENT!! Great job in helping them find triangles to share! Have a super weekend and I will try my best to be good this weekend with no trips to the ER (Heath and I have a weekend without kiddos and are track record isn't always the best when they are gone)! I guess when the cats are gone, the mice will play....hopefully not so much that we revisit the ER!!
Sorry, I forgot the reminders: Tomorrow is SHOW & TELL something TRIANGLE shaped!! Also, Aiden (Zoe's big brother) is planning to spend the morning with us. Owen (Drew's big brother) MAY spend the day with us, too! It will be fun to have new friends for a day!!!
One back from being sick (Drew)...yea, one sent home being sick (Kaitlyn)...boo! Looks like we have a bug movin' through!! So far, seems to be an up and down fever with a yucky nose. I will let you know if there are any more symptoms. Best of luck to those that haven't been 'hit' yet!
We did an I Am Strong rhyme and talked more about superheros. We sang our Twinkle and Fly song again, they seem to love that one! We talked about farm animals, their sounds and reread our book, On The Farm. They love to feel the animals in the touch and feel story! We worked on our sign language and reviewed our vocabulary words. For our project time, we worked on our numbers 4, 5 and 6 in our portfolios! We used stickers this time and counted out 4 ghosts, 5 halloween smiley faces and 6 pumpkins! It's so fun to watch them manipulate stickers...they are getting really good at it! We also worked on our November calendar, hopefully it will be ready before the weekend! Stay dry and warm this aftern GORGEOUS day outside!!! We took FULL advantage of the nice day, too! Before we started our day, we had fun getting to know an old friend, Sophia! She was full of energy and eager to help the little ones! Corbin was in awww with her blond hair and pink bow. We learned a new song called, I Am Polite (which we used our names in, so it was fun to sing). We made Pumpkin Patches instead of our Harvest Door Hangers. The kids stamped pumpkin prints on their paper and then had to glue stems on them. Sophia was VERY busy, as she made 31 pumpkins in her patch!! WOW! After project time, we headed outside and TOTALLY enjoyed the weather! We did rake a few leaves, but they were so wet, we decided not to jump in them. A few kiddos got muddy, but we were not going to stay inside because of the wet ground! Have a great day and we will see you later!
I LOVE this weather (now)...where was it this morning when we wanted to play outside??? I know we need the rain and these 60+ degrees are amazing, but let's get the sunshine in the morning hours so we can burn of some energy!! ;-) (just my simple request)
We did have a great day inside this morning! I was hoping for a morning outside to rake and jump in leaves, but the rain definitely put a damper on those plans...maybe tomorrow! We talked more about the Letter F and sang a song called Superhero. Today was also our Faith Lesson, so we talked about helping and taking care of others. Our prayer was to include anyone that needed help feeling better, so we added Drew's name to our prayer so that he we hopefully be back to play with us tomorrow! We made Red Cross Headbands for our project today. We still had fun with all of the 'new' toys If you haven't looked at the Week at a Glance yet, please note that our (the Allard's) weeknight schedule this week is hectic! Please be sure to be here by 5 pm each night, as we will be walking out the door right at 5 on some nights this week!
Since our morning started out springlike with storms, we stayed inside instead of venturing out for storytime. Even though the weather has been springlike today (storms this morning and windows wide open this afternoon), it was like Christmas here!!! With the rainfall and only a week to go before I switched toys around, we decided to do it early! The kids were in heaven!! So many "new" toys to play with!!! We now have the Castle and Race Track for the Little People Set, Mega Blocks, dress up clothes, My Little Pony, an array of Happy Meal Toys and more Lightning McQueen Cars....me oh my....talk about squeals of excitement this morning!!! We talked about Capes and Wings and learned a song about fairies...Twinkle and Fly! We introduced the Letter F Although it's a little dreary now, it was beautiful outside this morning (not what I was expecting)!! After we did our morning errands, we already had our coats and shoes on, so we stayed outside and enjoyed the beautiful morning!! The leaves on the ground have become quite a fun thing, too!!
We talked about horses and had fun with Old MacDonald's Song again! We reviewed our vocabulary and sign language words and we all worked on counting and our ABCs. We ended Circle Time with Shake Dem Halloween Bones and Biscuit's Pumpkin Patch Visit! For our project today, we had our Clifford Magazine. The back page activity was to color by number (we tried our best...but it was more fun just to color all over)! ;-) Have a great weekend!!! |
