Happy Friday and GO HAWKS! Benny and Graham were gone on vacation today, so we had only three kiddos here today. It was damp and wet outside this morning, so we had a blast with Show and tell, animals, squinkies and the curriculum manipulatives (putting mittens on your feet is SO much fun)!!🤣😊😆 As long as our mower guy doesn't show up to mow this afternoon, we'll be outside enjoying the sunshine after snack time. If (a big if), I can convince Heath to help me tackle a small makeover project, look for a surprise on Wednesday in the cubby closet!😉. I hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend.

Supplies, contracts, forms, curriculum sheet, monthly payments, bi-monthly payments, before school payments and curriculum payments are all due tomorrow morning. I'm sending this while the kids eat because I know you are all anxiously waiting to hear about their morning at preschool! I only picked up three kiddos because Rylan's dad surprised him with pick up (so I will get a pic of all four of them the next time). Miss Megan said everyone had a great day! I have to agree with her, they are all very excited to return! As expected, their favorite thing at preschool was THE PLAYGROUND! Go figure?!?! After prodding for more details, here is what I know.
We ate crackers and milk-Charleigh I dressed up in a fire coat-Graham I played with the money-Ava I was a princess-Charleigh Charleigh wore pink glasses-Graham We sang Penguins!-Charleigh We went potty before snack-Ava We read school books-Graham I played with puzzles-Ava All in all-I would say their first day of preschool was a success!😍 Benny and I enjoyed some one on one time! We picked up groceries and then came home to have a snack before heading to the library for story time. We listened to books about wild animals and then we colored a jungle picture. Weekly payments due tomorrow. Yea for practice run to preschool today and cooler weather with sunshine! It made for a perfect day! We practiced going to school (and we got there in time with waiting for the schoolager's bus pick up). The kids learned where we put school bags in the car, waiting their turns to get out, how to line up and tomorrow we will get to do the real deal! They are all, SO EXCITED!! I just love hearing their squeals of excitement!😍. I always recommend that parents put their child's change of clothes for preschool in the smaller compartment of their backpacks---this makes it much easier (and less distracting) for the kids to put their mailbox belongings into their bags at preschool pick up time (the kids will be learning how to do this on their own---so understand if papers come home a little wrinkled😉). Important items (like preschool pictures), I will make sure they make it home safely and undamaged. Encouraging independence is a BIG deal at preschool! Shoes on by themselves, potty by themselves, wash hands by themselves, coats on by themselves, mailbox check by themselves----yes, a lot ALL BY THEMSELVES!😊 They are big kids now-so please encourage all of this at pick up time from daycare, as well. They can take care of themselves (with a few reminders), so let them be the ones to get ready and carry their own bags! We spent all morning outside playing---it was absolutely beautiful outside! We even discovered new kittens!❤️. Have a great afternoon and grab the Kleenex for tomorrow!😅. Happy tears for the preschoolers!
Tomorrow is our Trial Run for preschool! We will be getting shoes on and loading up when the infamous "bus alarm" goes off (7:55 AM). We'll be driving to AGC after the bus picks up the school agers. We started off our day with a trip to pick up Heath (their favorite person) and then a trip to the bank---boring adult stuff (but the kids did great looking at books and reading to their little stuffed animals). We then dropped Heath back off at work and went home to play outside (until we couldn't stand the humidity any more). Yucky sticky weather! We checked out the new baby guineas and let Jeb and Jethro out to run and play. We went inside to get lunch ready and then Ava came right as we were ready for lunch-pizza rolls, pineapple and corn. Quiet book time after lunch is going great! We read more 'getting ready for school' books for story time. We read LLAMA LLAMA MISSES MAMA and THERE WAS AN OLD LADY WHO SWALLOWED SOME BOOKS. We're ready to rest to the rumbles in the sky, as the storms are just settling in. Stay cool!
An exciting week ahead~ We had a small group to start our day-only Graham, Benny and Charleigh. They had a blast playing with the dollhouse and all of the accessories. They are doing a great job of playing together and sharing toys (and being understanding that Benny wants to play, too). We had homemade Mac and cheese, garden fresh green beans and bananas for lunch-yum yum! Story time was all about going to school! We read DAVID GOES TO SCHOOL and IF YOU TAKE A MOUSE TO SCHOOL! We talked a lot about going to school and how it will look. They think it's funny that Benny and I will pick them up right before lunch time! They are going to have so much fun and I'm sure there might be a few tears (most likely more from mom and dads though). I reassured the kids they are happy tears because mommies and daddies are SO proud of them becoming BIG KIDS!😊. Try to stay cool this afternoon!
Schedules are due here on Monday-so I have time to figure payments and make the September calendar before next Friday. Rain, rain, go away! What a wet and cool morning! We've been creative inside, playing with trio blocks, manipulative, the barn animals and the little people sets. We also started working on our name writing. We had a practice sheet that we'll be taking home, but we'll soon have a laminated practice page to keep here and to work on before project time each day. This weather has me in the mood for baking, so we might just have to make some cookies this afternoon! Yummy!🥛🍪 Have a great weekend!
Show and Tell free choice tomorrow. What a happy day to start off the new school year! Thank you for everyone being here by 7:45 to give us time to all walk down together and get our annual first day of school photos!🚌 The littles are pros at the bus stop and they can't wait until it's their turn. Once the school agers were all in their way to school, it was fun and play at Lil' Peeps (with NO running kids to and from activities)!! We enjoyed the gorgeous weather and played outside. We're working really hard on being kind friends by sharing and taking turns. We're also working on lining up and waiting our turn. We are focusing on BIG KID stuff, now!😉 We are fish sticks, mixed veggies and bananas for lunch. After lunch, we have quiet book time (they find a quiet spot to sit, away from others, to look at books by themselves while I clean up from lunch), then we have our second story time of the day, followed by some singing. We read AMELIA BEDELIA'S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL and worked extra hard to sit cross cross applesauce with our hands in our laps because they are teaching Benny how to sit for story time (and they all did a SUPER job today)!😄. Everyone is down for naps (and the house is extremely quiet)! We can't wait to see Corbin get off the bus this afternoon!! Have a great day!
Weekly payments due tomorrow morning P DAY! Celebrating all things P today-Prairie, preschool, pajamas, The Secret Life of PETS, pizza, peas, pears, pudding, prairie colored plates and cups, popcorn and a new one for us this year, permit! I won't lie, probably not the most fun day (DMV), but with Harrison's XC schedule, it was today or a long way out. Thankful for technology and my helper, Tori, they watched the second half of the movie in the car. We ran late, because the DMV moves that slow, so the littles are just now going down for naps. We still have some Birthday singing to do this afternoon and to eat some Birthday cookies. I hope everyone is ready for the first day of school tomorrow!
Prompt (if not a little early) pick up today. yea for fall like weather! We had to play on the concrete from all of yesterday's rain, but it was so nice to get outside! We picked up H and T from XC and then headed out to the orthodontist. We are nearing the end of braces for Harrison and beginning the journey for Tori. I'm guessing another two years of orthodontist appointments😁😁. I can't believe we are near the last day of summer!!! It flew by (faster and faster every year)!😩. We're looking forward to a lot more outdoor play time, some fun field trips and of course, preschool! We read a couple of books talking about school today! The kids are SO excited to be BIG kids and go to preschool!
Last days of summer and first days of school this week! I won't lie, I was totally fine with a very rainy Monday morning!🌧 We played with the cars, race track and toddler toys first this morning while everyone came in. Next, we enjoyed a special treat from Ava (Hurts Donuts) for a morning snack. It was still downpouring after our snack, so we snuggled in and watched THE NUT JOB. For lunch, we ate Mac n cheese, peas and peaches. We sang rainy day songs and read some alphabet books before naptime. We also peeked inside our new curriculum, as it came over the weekend!! We can't wait to get it set up and going!.
