LOTS OF REMINDERS FOR TOMORROW!! Monthly Payments Due, Weekly Payments Due, Wipes Due, Curriculum Fee Due AND it's Show & Tell (anything)....ALL TOMORROW!!! Also, another reminder, if you haven't brought your EMPTY CEREAL BOX in yet, those are due here on MONDAY! We will be decorating our 'mailboxes' next week in preparation for Valentine's Day! HUGE THANK YOU to all of you that have been SO HELPFUL with our Hard Surface Roads Policy for College Community! Kristy took Harrison and Tori to school early today and let them 'hang out' in her classroom before school so all of us wouldn't have to get out in this bitter cold to take them to the bus stop in town. THANK YOU!!! She's also bringing them home after school. I can't tell you all how MUCH that helps out with our days when late starts, hard surface routes and early outs happen...HUGE RELIEF! We all might be going home with BLUE fingers today! We have had fun with the color blue! We learned how to say it in Spanish, sign it and we finger painted with it to make icicles and we mixed it with some ingredients to make shiny snow on another project. We were busy, busy at the table

SNOW DAY!!! Hope everyone is having a fun snow day and enjoying extra snuggles and giggles! I have never gotten a SNOW DAY to myself with just Harrison and Tori in all of my years of doing home daycare, so we are COMPLETELY enjoying our 'extra' day together! We have made a foam monster truck, painted a lightswitch cover, picture frame and heart trinket box, painted two suncatchers and now the kids are onto coloring some shrinky dink artwork so we can pop it in the oven later! We are having soooo much fun together! I'll send out an update on the roads in the morning after Heath goes into work (around 6:45/7:00ish before he reports back t
Every day we sing our "What's The Weather" song during Calendar/Circle Time, but today, we didn't know what to say??? If we had a "crazy" option, I think today would have won! Speaking of weather, there was NO WAY we were going to let a little wet ground keep us from enjoying the near 60 degree cloudy/dreary day outside! Unfortunately, when we were outside for a few minutes, the sprinkles started in, and then they came faster and faster and by the time we made it back to the porch, the thunder started booming and our outdoor time was cut short. I was VERY surprised that we didn't all melt (knowing we're all as sweet as sugar)! Today's project was a SHARING BAG. We made it to remind us of the importance of sharing with others from our Faith Lesson. After we decorated our Sharing Bags, we made a trail mix and put it inside and tied it up with a ribbon. All of the kids picked who they were going to SHARE their snack with!
HAPPY MONDAY! REMINDER: We will be leaving around 4:00 PM TODAY, to pick up Harrison and Tori at the "Hard Surface Route In Town Bus Stop". The bus is scheduled to drop them off at 4:16 PM, so we will be back home shortly after we pick them up. We had a fun Monday morning full of wiggles!! Our topic this week is Creative Creations so we talked a lot about art and Pretty Pictures! Our song, Pretty Picture was really fun to sing! We also had a chance to test out our Yoga DVD. The kids had fun attempting some of the yoga moves and I think it is definitely something we can grow into. We may just do a few moves each week for now (attention span) and slowly grow on the whole workout. I also found another kids exercise dvd that I might check out and give a test run with the kids. We talked more about our Exercise Shaker and did a practice run with it today...we had to do 28 Grasshoppers!!!
FRIDAY FUN!!! We couldn't take the indoors anymore....and so glad we 'toughed it out', even if for just a little bit, it was GREAT to be outside running around for a little while today! Thankfully, the wind was from the south, so when we played in the backyard, the house blocked some of the wind! The kids had soooo much fun running around and burning off a week's worth of energy! ;-) We didn't have a BIG project today, but we did work on on our February Calendars and got them ready to send home. We colored with pink colors and glued pink hearts to our calendar and talked a lot about LOVE!!! Show and Tell was tricky with the octagon shape, but I was impressed! GREAT JOB!!! We talked about stop signs and the shape of them and counted all eight sides of the octagon! Zoe brought a great puzzle of shapes that ALL of the kids enjoyed!
Today was our first Thursday Portfolio Day that EVERYONE was here for Project Time, so we got out the paints and worked on our handprint pages!! OH SO MUCH FUN! Today's handprints were turned into penguins...so of course we had to practice our waddles! ;0) We talked about the good ol' polar bears and our shape, the OCTAGON! Don't forget, tomorrow is SHOW & TELL SOMETHING OCTAGON SHAPED (be creative)!! We had fun reviewing our songs from the month and working on our January Felt Storyboard! The kids just LOVE helping with the story! Have a super afternoon!
' HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LITTLE MISS KAITLYN!!! She's TWO today! We celebrated with mini donut holes at breakfast (along with some singing), and then Kaitlyn brought yummy cupcakes to share that we ate after our lunch! YUM, YUM!! Kaitlyn also brought coloring books for everyone to take home....THANK YOU! Day three of bitter cold and it's starting to catch up with everyone! We had to get some wiggles out this morning so we set up an obstacle course and had fun burning off some extra energy! We talked more about polar bears and penguins and practiced making polar bear sounds! We made a SHAGGY POLAR BEAR for our project today and even added some glittery snowflakes in the background! We also had fun doing a snowball toss with wadded up paper...that brought out the giggles!
A much quieter day today, with only 4 kiddos...but we are still having just as much fun as yesterday! The kids are loving the 'new look' of the playroom and exploring new toys! For our Calendar/Circle Time, we focused on the numbers 11 and 12 and the letter O. Polar Bears were on topic too! We worked on our Faith Lesson and I LOVE that the kids are getting older and retaining information from week to week on our Faith Lessons. We have it down lickety split that Jesus had 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread to share with everyone! Our project was a little on the 'difficult' side today, but, since it was too cold to go outside, we made it work out and the kids helped sing lots of songs while I weaved their baskets! They did a great job helping with the taping and putting their fish and bread into the baskets, but the initial artwork was a little too much for our younger ones! We also pulled out our floor mats and had fun jumping from mat to mat to burn off some of our extra energy since
I'm happy to report that I am not tied up, ducted taped or trapped inside a closet today (you never know what will happen when it's 11:1)! We have had an EXCELLENTLY FUN MONDAY!!! All of the kids have had a fantastic day of Pajama Fun and just some good ol' play time with old and new friends! All of the giggles and smiles makes my heart so happy! Some extra fun we had today was some artwork coloring. The kids were able to color snowpeople and they added whatever they wanted to them. We also had a fun winter coloring page to work on. Ally and Sydney made Apple Cinnamon Muffins with their mommy this weekend and they brought them to share with everyone for our morning snacktime! YUM YUM YUM! We also took advantage of the cold weather and made mini monster cookies for our afternoon snacktime! The kids can't wait to eat them! I hope you are all having as good a day as we are here!
Sorry, I just noticed yesterday's blog entry didn't get posted!! oops! It's on here now, though!
REMINDERS: ***If your little ones wear their hats/mittens/boots home the night before, don't forget to bring them back for the next day!! ***MONDAY is PAJAMA DAY!!! Wear your comfies and come ready to play with lots of friends (if our house stays healthy, Josh, Lauren and Ella will be spending the night with us on Sunday night and here to play with everyone on Monday). Sydney will be here, too! I am sure LOTS and LOTS of giggles will be here on Monday! Ally was still home recovering from the stomach flu and so far, the rest of us haven't shown any signs of it!! Keep those fingers and toes crossed! We had a fun Show & Tell day and we also enjoyed our Clifford Magazine this morning. We played a fun FREEZE game as we were learning about water and what happens when it gets too cold. We also had fun with our blue snowflake covered football and tossed it around to each other while we were in a |
