We've had a GREAT Halloween! We enjoyed Story Time at the library and even got to Trick or Treat at the library! Our goodies are in a Trick or Trick bag in our cubbies! Everyone also got a Goodie Bag from daycare, too! Oh, what a fun day we are having! In hopes of being able to go to the Prairie View Parade, we adjusted our schedule a little to be sure to let everyone get their 2 hour afternoon nap in today. We will be leaving here around 2 pm to go to the school. The parade starts at 2:30 and we will return home after it's over (I'm sure it will be around 3:30ish). It looks like tonight's weather will cooperate for all of the tir

We were blessed with another beautiful fall day! Don't forget, Monday is our Halloween Fun Day! Your child can wear or bring their costume. Keep in mind, we will still go outside and be eating, so if you don't want them doing those things in their costumes, make sure they have clothes to wear! We will also try to make it to Prairie View to watch the parade at 2:30 on Monday.
We enjoyed our Friday by making our Night Eyes book from our Let's Find Out Magazine and we started our recipe for the day, Pumpkin Cheese Ball. It's in the fridg now and setting so that we can form it into the shape of a pumpkin for our afternoon snack. Have a GREAT weekend and Congrats to Kristen and Bryce on their new baby girl, Kinley Lynn! Braden is going to be a GREAT big brother! Details under IMPORTANT tab. ;-)
Tomorrow is SHOW & TELL and we will also be making our Pumpkin Cheese Ball for our snack! YUM We LOVED the weather today and enjoyed playing outside this morning. It was a spectacular fall day! We enjoyed some fun Halloween books and we enjoyed our Halloween finger plays of Itsy Bitsy Spider and Five Little Pumpkins! We even had some fun with our Baby Yoga Moves, too! As a project this morning, we made our Pumpkin Bread for tomorrow A Wonderful Wednesday is what we have had today! We enjoyed bowling this morning and learning how to roll the ball in the house and we had fun playing Telephones with the new phones Heath made for us to play with. We reviewed our monthly songs and fingerplays and we talked about things that are different. We worked on a strip today and found a hat that was different and an apple that was different from the rest.
We also had a visitor today, our next door neighbor, Veronica. She is a dog groomer and we had met her previously and talked to her about grooming Sarge for us. She is so sweet and even offered to drive over and get Sarge and meet the kids. So, while the kids are napping, Sarge is being transformed into his teeny tiny self again (I have a feeling he will look REALLY different since we have put this off a lot longer than usual...oops)! But, thankfully, now that Veronia lives right next door, Sarge can be on a good hair cut schedule and look like himself again! Thanks to Braden for bringing in the sliced olives, we will be making our Owl Snacks for our afternoon snack...they look like they will be REALLY cute! Whoooo, whoooo!
We had a busy morning during Calendar Time and we read the book, Good Night, Owl for our story. We even learned a new fingerplay called Mr. Owl. For our project today, we talked about circles and made a circle sampler to take home and hang for our families to see. We just love to make beautiful artwork! We also made our Pumpkin Pie Playdough! The house smelled so yummy after we made it! Everyone gets to take some playdough home with them tonight, but we may make some more later this week! Have a great after Okay, I was just informed that my blog wasn't updated today! I DID post it earlier during naptime, but that's just how some days go! Let me try to remember what I wrote earlier!
First of all, some changes at the cubby closet! I'm getting ready for winter coats, hats, mittens and boats! Please put shoes in the wicker basket by the back door and hats/mittens/scarves can go in the black bucket inside the cubby closet. I usually have children put their hats and mittens inside their coats, but we still have quite a few little ones here, so we'll just use the black bucket for now. Once the snow starts flying, I will have a boot tray by the back door. We worked on our Faith Lesson and made a REALLY cute craft to hang up at home! We are learning that we don't need to be afraid, because God is always with us and will always help us. Okay, An end to a crazy week! Yea!! Thankfully, though, kids make hard times SO MUCH easier! I loved all of the hugs and smiles this week!
Everyone was VERY creative on their TRIANGLE Show & Tell today! I just LOVE it that you are all on board with your children's learning here! We had a great day, and because of all of our EXTRA running as a family this week, we stayed home this morning instead of making a trip into the Recycling Center. Instead, we enjoyed the beautiful fall day that God gave us today! It was absolutely fantastic! We even got an added treat of seeing our neighbor out in the field with his big combine! (I am definitely a country girl at heart, I just LOVE seeing the fields being harvested) Next week we will continue our theme of Web Wonders and Fall. Wishing you all a Tomorrow is SHOW & TELL something TRANGLE shaped! Don't forget those hats, coats and maybe even mittens! We get outside EVERYDAY, unless the weather doesn't allow it. Even if it's just for 10-15 minutes, we all need our fresh air! Keep in mind, we're on a hill, so we get quite a breeze outside!!
We enjoyed calendar time today and reviewing our fun songs again today! If you haven't tried singing Itsy Bitsy Spider or Five Little Pumpkins yet, give it a shot, the kids are doing a great job acting them out! We read the story, Bat's Big Game and talked about bats! I have had plans all week to make Pumpkin Playdough, but we are short one ingredient and with the week of running we have had, I plan to get it this weekend, so we will have fun with our pumpkin playdough ne SPIDER BITES!!! AAAAHHHHH! The girls and I made their spider bites today, but we will send them home to share with family! Harrison and Tori enjoyed theirs for breakfast this morning! YUMMY!!
We stuck to our normal routine, but we had a pretty laid back day. We enjoyed Calendar/Circle/Project/Outside and Inside Play Time today. We just kind of went with the flow today and enjoyed each other! Ally is ALL over the place now and Kaitlyn may only be crawling, but she doesn't want to miss out on a thing either! We worked on our favorite songs/rhymes again today...Five Little Pumpkins and The Itsy Bitsy Spider! I just love seeing little ones trying to mimic what they are learning! SO CUTE! I have updated the IMPORTANT tab with info on Grandpa and I will update it as I know more. Right now, he is sleeping more but appearing to be holding steady with his blood intake/outake. We will just take it one day at a time right now! Thank you for all of your support during this difficult time! I love that I work with children and can get as many hugs as needed each day! The We enjoyed the morning with Calendar Time and working on some new songs. The Itsy Bitsy Spider and Five Little Pumpkins our BIG hits right now! The kids are doing a great job trying to act them out!
Our project today was to make a HUGE PUMPKIN...and they turned out great! The kids really enjoyed sticking the orange tissue paper onto their pumpkins! We had plans to go the Hiawatha Library, but life got in the way today! (I will send an email soon, explaining what is happening). Even though we didn't go anywhere, we stayed at the house and enjoyed our morning together. Tomorrow we will be making Spider Bites! Thanks to |
