Monday is May 1st! Curriculum fees, wipes, monthly and bi-monthly payments are due at morning drop off. We had three here all day and Corbin got a special day with his parents since he had kindergarten round up. We got out of the house to burn energy since it was so cold and then rainy! We headed to Theisen's since I needed some cheesecloth. Popcorn, baby ducks and baby chicks were still exciting! When we got home, we started lunch and now we're getting ready for afternoon story time.

Show and Tell tomorrow. We had a rainy start, but our friend Connor was here today, so the extra time inside wasn't too bad. We had a dreary calendar time and sang rainy songs and read books about rainy days.☔️ We had fun with free art time and framed our awesome artwork. We played doctor and doctored up the stuffed animals, too! Corbin picked out some funny books for our mid day story time before nap time. Our favorite was Dino-Hockey! Have a great afternoon!
Weekly payments are due tomorrow. Dreary and cooler weather kept us inside this morning. If it stays dry this afternoon, we'll get outside. We had free play time with the dragons and we dug out the dominos! Lots of fun with them! We took a break and made some dog treats for something fun to do. Counting blueberries was fun! We set up ALL of the Little People sets and had a city in the living room! It was a lot of fun! If the rain comes back this afternoon and keeps us inside, we plan to plant some garden seeds. We keep singing to Mr. Sun, but we haven't seen him yet!☁️
May calendars will be ready soon-look for them in the cubbies tomorrow! What a day!! As most of you know-we thought we were going to need to go to the doctor for some stitches in my finger.😮 So far, I'm doing better, but it's still bleeding.😕 At this point, I'll wait and see how it looks after work. I'm hoping no stitches are needed! Our second bit of excitement was my great nephew being born! Hagen Elliot was born at 7:15 this morning!💙 Because of this, the kids and I loaded up (after I got the finger issue taken care of) and we went shopping for Hagen. Since both his daddy and mommy love to hunt, we had fun buying Hagen some Carharrt bibs, a camo fleece outfit, a Lil Hunter hat, a bib, socks and camo slippers. He is all ready for hunting season!💙 When we got home, we played outside for awhile until the sprinkles came.☔️ As the email stated from yesterday, I'll be going out to milk at 4:30 today. Harrison and Tori will both be around to help out.
I'll be sending May calendars home soon! Doctor kits, foam blocks, books and puzzles are how we started our morning. We weren't inside too long, and then we went outside to play! The upcoming week looks to be wet, so we wanted to enjoy it while we could. First, we had to see the new baby calves (names are TBD, although I call them Red and Brown)😉 While we met them, the horses came up to say hi, too. Right before Ms. Tracy came, our little guy, Shrek (baby goat), came back home to see if we could get him to nurse off his momma (he wasn't too happy with his new home). We'll keep checking on him today and make sure he is doing fine. Ms. Tracy read us silly books about the library. We read about Dewey the library cat and how chickens came to a library, too!!!😳 Even though it's been super windy, we have had a great time outside, this morning!
Have a great weekend! We had a busy Friday morning! We're having some 'goat issues', so we stuck around here so we could check on the babies all morning long-no library for us today. We still had fun with Show and Tell items, the kitchen play set and we made a spring collage art board to take home. We colored and glued bright, springy colored items on bright yellow paper. Once we were done inside, we went outside to play (and work). The kids helped me sort through the outdoor toys and we revamped the outdoor toy storage area. We added in new toys and threw out old toys. Sometimes parents ask what they can gift to us, so I'll share our outdoor toy wish list with you. No one needs to bring in toys, but we'll always appreciate any toys here. Toys don't even have to be new, if it's something that you have and are ready to pass it along-that's fabulous! Keep in mind outdoor toys now, and being able to withstand the elements.☀️💦💨 Some new toys we added were new jump ropes, orange cones, catch sets, baseball gloves, wiffle balls, ninjas, ponies and bracelets.
Some items we would still love to have are more balls, hula hoops, bubbles and bubble accessories, sidewalk chalk, more purple and pink toys (we have bracelets and ponies), cars and trucks (hot wheel size), plastic animals and pool noodles. Show and Tell tomorrow! Wow! What a change in temperature! Even though it wasn't sunny, we got outside to burn off energy. The new jump ropes were THE toy to have today! We took a walk and checked out the apple trees and berry vines. The blossoms are looking good! We made a quick run into Ely to deliver some eggs around town. I think we sang the "Bumblebee Song" 50 times whe we were in Ely!🐝 Definitely a favorite song these days! We hope Mr. Sun comes out to play with us later.☀️
Weekly payments due tomorrow morning. We had a surprise friend pop in today. Connor came to play for just a few hours this morning. We had fun playing with musical instruments, cars, mega blocks and the big jungle animals. We focused on our faith lesson and made placemats for our project. We did get outside, in between rain showers, but our time outside was cut short by more rain.☔️ For lunch, we enjoyed chicken and rice, broccoli and pears. Yum!
Weekly payments due Thursday morning. We haven't blown away yet! We made sure to get outside to play most of the morning, due to the predicted forecast!☔️ Before heading out, we made ducks for our art project. Once we were outside, it was time for soccer, basketball, golf, frisbee and tether ball! Lots going on outside, today. Of course, we had to slow down a bit to check on the baby kittens every once in awhile! Tiger had 5 kittens yesterday evening!🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱 I'm sure everyone will sleep well this afternoon after battling the wind outside!💨
PROMPT pick up tonight-4H night for us. No school today and beautiful outside, too-double win! We had a car full, but we got out and spent the morning at Swisher Park! We climbed ladders and toadstools, slid down slides and poles, enjoyed the breeze as we were on the swings and ran the bases on the ball diamond! Lots of fresh air! Right after lunch, we ran the big kids to the library for the Play-Doh Palooza event. We'll go and pick them up after nap time (so we'll be gone for a bit around 3:15ish). We're getting a taste of summer fun and we LOVE it!
