🚨As said on Monday, a bug has been moving through daycare. Almost everyone was back today, but unfortunately, Ellie spent last night in the ER, battling croup. She is home now and resting, but just be aware that this nasty cold can definitely turn on these littles fast. Healing hugs to Ellie!💗 Happy Hump Day! It was good to have the majority of the kids back, hope this bug moves along quickly! Our day started with more baby goats! Three more added to the farm, giving us 18 babies so far (not to mention the 15 bottle babies)!😳 I wouldn’t be surprised if we added another 3-4 yet today. The kids got to watch 2 babies be born, so I’m sure they will have a lot of details to share!😜 Once we saw all babies were out and okay, we left momma to do her job. We went back inside and did our final projects. We talked about making good choices and stopping to think about our choices. We also did our final worksheet of the month to review our learning. After projects, we bundled up, took a walk to get the mail, checked on the new baby goats and then went outside to play. The windchill was at 21° and it didn’t take too long before the kids said they were cold and wanted to go back inside. We came inside and played with babies and trio blocks for the next 20 minutes before we settled in for lunch. We had chicken fried rice, peas and peaches to eat. After lunch, we read CAILLOU’S EASTER and LITTLE BUNNY’S BATHTIME. We sang Little Bunny Foo Foo and Happy Birthday to Benny. Benny brought butterfly cakes to share for his birthday treat, too.

THIS WEEK: Happy Monday! We had a very small group today, as we must have a bug moving through daycare-Maddox and Emmie were out sick today. We hope they get to feeling better soon. We enjoyed a morning of free play (and picking on Heath, until he left to go to the fire station)-the kids aren’t used to seeing him in the morning, but that didn’t stop anyone from teasing and playing! We talked about tractors and our ground, soil and rocks. We sang a new tractor song, talked about riding on tractors, the farm animals they see on farms and why the soil is so important to us. We talked about things that grow in the soil and animals that live in the soil. We made a tractor puzzle, a barn with a flap door and we worked on a worksheet together about the soil and rocks. We did get outside, but because of the wind, we tried to stay away from the big trees. We went out and met the newest baby goats (we have 12 so far), saw the older baby goats again and then we went on a walk to get the mail. We walked around the yard and made it back to the chicken coop and gathered LOTS of eggs. We are hoping the wind settles some so we can get back out to play again! We very well may be in the barn again this afternoon, we still have 6 goats to kid!
