Monday, Funday! We introduced the Letter W this morning and started our Up and Away Theme! We worked on two topic cards, Clouds and Things in the Air. A new song we worked on was called, Zoom Around the Room! We had fun pretending to be airplanes when it was clean up time today. We met the new Story Time Librarian this morning at Story Time. Her name is Liz. We had a lot of fun and loved giving BoBo hugs and kisses at the end of storytime. We didn't play outside before lunch because it was soooo windy and kind of chilly still. We had fun playing with puzzles, trains and the magna doodles. Have a great Monday afternoon!

Just a day late for our update, but all is MUCH better at the homefront! I only have a slight headache today and I was curled up in bed by 5:30 last night! Back to our FUN we had yesterday! We started off our day with going into Cedar Rapids and doing our weekly trip to City Carton. Everyone had fun letting the raindrops hit them and we tried catching them with our mouths, too! Once we got home, it was raining still, so we worked on our Let's Find Out Magazine and then it was time for Amber's Music Time! We had SOOOO much fun! She let us strum her guitar, we beat on drums and we each shook our maracas! The kids did a great job of listening to Amber and even though the kids normally sing and do hand movements with our songs (Itsy Bitsy Spider and Twinkle, Twinkle), I think the fact that Amber played the songs on her guitar put them into shock mode! I would have to agree, she is pretty shocking! (absolutely anyone with musical talent amazes me)! Thank you, again, Ally, for letting us be a part of your Music Therapy session!
Tomorrow is SHOW & TELL! Payments are due and we will be leaving to go to City Carton around 8:45 so we are sure to be back in time for our FIRST Music Therapy Session with Ally! We can't wait, we are sooooo excited to see what Amber will have us doing! Tori will also be home tomorrow, as it's Kindergarten Round Up at Prairie tomorrow, so she's excited about getting to be home with us tomorrow.
We enjoyed Calendar and Circle Time and we really focused on the bunnies today! We practiced our fingerplay some more, we learned how to sign bunny and we learned a new song called Bunnies in the Garden. For our project time today, we colored and worked on a worksheet from our Faith Lesson this week. We also made maracas from some of our Easter Eggs! I checked them at noon, but they weren't dry yet! After all of our work time this morning, it was time to enjoy the gorgeous day outside! We didn't want to come inside, but we finally had to so we could get lunch ready! We hope all of you can get out and enjoy the sunshine today! Flowers, Tulips and Beautiful colors! We just love how colorful spring is! We sang a new song, Flowers in the Spring and we went on a flower walk (it was a little chilly this morning though). We learned the Spanish word for flower (flor) and we talked about rabbits and we did a cute fingersong for My Rabbit. Our project used part of last week's artwork and we made a Sticker Frame! They are going home today, so you can add in your favorite snapshot from Easter! Enjoy all of the sunshine we are having today!
We had a busy Tuesday morning! We did make a trip into sign paperwork for our taxes, which I think the ladies at the office NEEDED to see 5 smiling faces today! ;-) Before we left, we did our Calendar and Circle Time and focused more on the Letter V, talked about Nests and we sand the song Spring Has Sprung. We also did our Faith Lesson and talked more about Jesus and Easter. When we got back from our outting, we played outside and then we came inside to work on our project. We started making Easter Baskets and we also made a VERY shiny cross. If they aren't dry by this afternoon, we'll send them home tomorrow.
Plans are never set in stone at daycare when we have 5 little kiddos! (six today, with Sydney)! Our little guy was having a rough morning, so we decided against Story Time. However, after snack time, our morning was better, so we headed out and went to the park and read stories together there! After we were done with OUR story time, we walked on the trail some, saw a fish, two geese and a duck! We sang songs on a trail bench and we worked on staying on the right side of the yellow line on the trail! It was chilly, but we all had nice warm coats to keep us snuggly warm! We are hoping to get outside this afternoon to play a game of Chick Chick Bunny! We'll see how that goes! ;-) Hope you all had a FANTASTIC Easter Sunday and were able to enjoy the beautiful day!
WISHING EVERYONE A VERY HAPPY EASTER!! Thank you all again for the early pick up time today, also.
We had a busy morning of running into CR for City Carton and while we were in town, we ran the Saturn through the car wash (always lots of giggles)! Once at home, we enjoyed our morning of Show & Tell toys! They were GREAT toys today...very entertaining for the kids to play with! We had extra Circle Time today as we introduced the Oval Shape and the Number 17! We also talked a lot about Easter and read some fun Easter books! We finished our Egg Print Prop art and we also read and worked on our Let's Find Out Magazine! What a BUSY, BUSY morning! Have a SUPER Don't forget, TOMORROW is our last day of the week AND we are closing early (3:30). We will have Show & Tell tomorrow and payments are due tomorrow morning, al
We had a cool and breezy morning! Burrrr! We attempted going outside, but even the kiddos were ready to come back inside shortly after being outside. We started our morning with some fun Spring Happenings and we talked more about the color yellow and sang the song, One Little Seed. We also did some exercising as we learned some new stretches as we reached for the sky! Our project this morning was to work on our Egg Print Prop! We pinched pom poms with clothespins and then we dipped them in paint and colored egg cutouts! We used yellow, green, orange and blue paints! They are VERY beautiful! We are a house of growing kiddos! I had to make seconds today for lunch, EVERYONE was super hungry! So happy to have such good little eaters here! ;-)
Our morning started with Calendar and Circle Time (in the playroom) and we talked about rain and learned a new song called Raindrops. We also worked on our Bible Story and read our Faith Book, Let's Celebrate Jesus on Easter! For our project today, we made a Jesus Lives craft! The kids can pull on the string and Jesus will rise up to the sun! We sang On The Cross while we worked on our artwork! We also had our 'future friend', Drew and his mommy, Kristy visit us this morning! Drew will be starting here in August as Kristy gets back to work at Prairie View! We can't wait for him to start and I have a feeling between Drew and Corbin, they'll keep the girls in Monday funday! Even though it wasn't our typical Monday, we still had fun, especially when it came time to color our Easter eggs! We have some VERY colorful eggs to bring home! Before we started on our project of coloring eggs, we got started with welcoming April! We learned a Welcome Song and had fun with letters. We even shared some April Fool's Day stories. We went over some vocabulary words and learned a new one...EGG! We also sang a 'classic' song, A Tisket A Tasket! What a fun week of Easter Fun we will have! Have a super afternoon!
