First FULL week of summer...complete! Yeah, Corbin came back today (sort of)!😜 He was here until lunch time, and then he ditched us to go play with Drew!😊 We had fun with the farm puzzles, potato heads and scarves before we were on Uber Duty around 9. We then picked up Tori and went to Menards. We bought a sprinkler, some new bouncy balls and some new air needles to air up the rest of our balls. After Menards, we went back to the school and since Harrison still wasn't done, we went to the Creek School playground. The kids had a blast there! After XC was over, we went home and played in the sprinklers until it was time to eat lunch. We're down to just Ava and Charleigh for the rest of the day. I hope everyone has a great weekend and stays cool!😎

Bi-Monthly payments due tomorrow. Rain, Rain, Go Away! We started with free play with the doll house and then went to pick up H and T from XC. Once we had them, we stopped by to pick up groceries...then it started. We were hoping to play outside when we got home, but the lightning said otherwise. We played inside with tents, blankets and flashlights, instead. For lunch, we ate chicken nuggets, corn and yogurt. We had extra read time again, as Tori read to the kids during clean up from lunch and then I read to the kids. Ms. Tracy sent us a lot of farm books, so we read about cows and goats! Have a great day.
Weekly payments due tomorrow morning. Happy Hump Day!🐪 We were busy working on a project right away! We did color rubs to make pictures of ice cream, as we talked about Dairy Month and what that means. We found out that milk doesn't come from stores! It comes from cows (and goats)! We also found out that cheese, ice cream and chocolate milk all come from milk!!🥛 After that project, we loaded up to get Tori and then made a quick stop at the store to buy supplies for our next project! Once we were done running for the morning, we came home and worked on our Father's Day gifts! Shhhh---it's a secret!🎁 After all of our projects time, we ran outside to play! It was gorgeous outside! We are mac n cheese, peas and oranges for lunch. After lunch, Tori read some books and then I read for story time---lots of reading!📚 Rylan loved the book, BLUE ANIMALS! I also learned that one in two million lobsters are blue!😲 (Never too old to learn)! We'll be taking Tori to gymnastics this afternoon and then how to play outside, again. Have a great day!
READING TIME: 25 minutes📚 What a foggy start to our day. It was so damp and dreary, we're glad the sun finally decided to start shining!☀️ We were on the go a lot this morning. We picked up Tori at 9 from XC and then drove her to Graham and Benny's house (the kids thought that was great)! She's going to babysit them, most Tuesdays, through the summer. After we dropped her off, we went back home to play and start making some plans for our gifts for dad this week.👔 An extra special treat for the kids, was having Heath come home (he is having an allergic reaction from something along the driveway-where he cleared trees on Sunday)!😟 The kids love it when Heath-aka: Heath cracker, candy bar and zippy, is around to harass.🤣 We took goat milk to a neighbor to help with their kitten and then went and picked up Harrison from practice. When we got home, it was time to eat, followed by story time. Our morning was busy.
*Be sure to glance at our weekly calendar for our daily on the go plans. Welcome to another week! It's our first official full week of summer. Harrison and a Tori are both going g to XC every day now! I will be running them to school right before I open, so if anyone beats me here in the morning, know that I will be coming back! Benny and Graham were back to visit today and Corbin was gone at wrestling camp. We had a great morning playing with the tools and wooden blocks. We also had fun with the animals and puzzles. We even replaced some batteries---so it was like having brand new toys!😜. We also met our newest farm friend, Wilbur (a billy boer goat---aka meat goat). He's a young billy and loves attention! He makes number 20 with number 21 out on loan! We had planned to take H and T into Ely after lunch, but they decided to bike it into town instead. They are going to the library for the Bones, Brains and Biopsies presentation at 2. After naptime, we'll all load up to take Tori into Somersaults for practice (we should be back home around 4:15). We'll be working on some surprises the rest of the week, so we'll see if we have secret keepers or not!😊
Today is a PROMPT, if not early pick up---graduation party for Casey.🎓 Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a fun weekend planned. We started with a big group, but we are quickly dwindling (Rylan left to go meet up with his Grandma, Aiden and Zoe left to go camping, the school agers are at Rainbow Park until the movie starts at the library---so currently, it's just myself, Ava and Charleigh here. We'll be dropping Ava off at her house when we go to the library at 3:30 to pick up the big kids. We enjoyed the breezy morning outside playing in the yard and then ate PB&J sandwiches, mixed veggies and bananas (had to eat them again this week because my grocery order gave me 24 bananas!!😲 Good thing I have lots of kids around to eat them! While the little girls nap, the bigs are playing at the park and rock hunting (I have already been informed that Corbin has found 3) and then they are going to watch A WRINKLE IN TIME. Thanks for the prompt pick up so we can go celebrate with my nephew tonight! Our new buddy, Wilbur (a boer billy goat), will be here on Monday! We are officially the funny farm! Have a great weekend!
Reading Minutes: 15 minutes We started out with a quick run to pick up groceries and then home to play outside while it was still a little cooler out. Once XC was over, we all loaded up to pick up Harrison, and then it was a run to the orthodontist for a quick 10 minute wire change (which was perfect for a quick potty break at the dentist office).😉 When we got back home, it was time to start lunch and we played outside until it was ready to eat (pizza rolls, corn and pineapple). After lunch, we had story time and talked about all of the summer fun at the library. Since the littles were showing me signs of being tired (not sharing and taking toys from others), I decided that they probably needed a good nap today. Before naptime though, we loaded the school agers up and we took them to Rainbow Park, so they could play there for a bit and then walk over to the library for Cupcake with a Cop and the MBerry Challenge. Once the littles wake up, we'll go into Ely and pick up the kids (around 3pm), then back home for a snack. Tomorrow's Friday Flix at the library is A WRINKLE IN TIME---school age parents, please let me know if this is a good fit movie for your kiddo (if not, we can always stay here for a movie or water play). As expected, our summer is busy and fun so far!☀️
Weekly payments are due tomorrow morning. BURR! It was chilly today---big change from what we have been having for weather. We had two bigs and two littles today, which made for a great morning of fun. Everyone enjoyed puppets and dress up early, then the bigs took off upstairs with Tori to play their zoo game. The littles and I went to do XC pick up at 10 while the bigs stayed home with Tori. Once Harrison was home, the bigs had a great game of "Happy Man in the Park" (which they tell me is like Ghost in the Graveyard) going on outside. For lunch, we had chicken nuggets, green beans, and bananas. The littles are down for an earlier nap (so that they can at least rest for an hour today). We'll all be going to the library to watch a magic show at 2 pm. After the magic show, we'll play at the library until it's time to take Tori to gymnastics. We should be home by 4:15. It's been a busy but fun day!
TODAY'S RUNNING: The littles and I will be leaving at 2:30, with Harrison, to drop him off for Ultimate League, at Prairie. Tori will be here with the school agers. LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!☀️ We have had a great day with the big kids! We officially have an 8th, 7th, 5th, 2nd and 1st grader in the house! We had a great morning of outdoor play time, a fabulous cookout with hot dogs, chips, guacamole, popcorn, brownies and fruit (that was cat shaped)! We also had the original summertime drink-lemonade!🍋 The big kids are busy painting rocks for ROCK ELY, while the littles snag a nap 😴. IF the bigs get bored, we have a summer bucket list coloring sheet for them...but I don't foresee too much boredom on this first day!😉 Harrison and the littles and I will be leaving at 2:30 and we will return as soon as we drop Harrison off at school. Here's to a great summer ahead!
Summer is ALMOST here!!! Today was the calm before the storm!😉 We had a quiet morning with lots of play time. Our project today, was to go rock hunting and then we washed the rocks in a tub of water. We are getting the rocks ready to paint tomorrow and then hide them later this week, for a cool project called ROCK ELY. Check it out on FB and join the group. If you find a rock hidden in Ely, you can keep it or rehide it somewhere---but post it on FB first under their page, ROCK ELY. We also enjoyed meeting and petting our new farm friend, Harry (a month old calf). This weather today is amazing!☀️ We are going to soak in as much of it as we can! Noted above is our reading time for today. Please be sure to count our daycare reading minutes towards your Ely Library Summer Reading program (I'm assuming most of you signed up at Friday night's Block Party)! If you haven't signed up through the library--do so!📚 The summer ready program isn't just for kids either-teens and adults can sign up, too! The littles and I will be taking Tori to pracice today at 4.
