This week’s schedule of EXTRA events:We couldn’t have asked for better weather today! It is gorgeous outside! We started with a trip to check on goats and move them to their next paddock. We took toys to play since the timber is full of trails, dirt and fun! We weren’t there long, because the goats were ready to move and eat more weeds! The kids were a human goat gate as we moved them across the trail to the next paddock. It is pretty fun to watch them move over and start devouring the foliage! After moving goats, we dropped Harrison off at the park to get his mileage in for XC. We came home and went straight outside-so beautiful out there today and a good breeze to keep the bugs away! For lunch, we ate mac and cheese, peas and peaches. We’ll see everyone this afternoon at pick up!

Goat check in the morning and dropping kids off for XC workouts after. With a big moving in, we only had Rylan here today. Definitely an extra small group! We checked on the goats right away and then came home to play. Ry chose Legos for free play. We ate an early lunch of PB&J, peaches and carrot sticks before heading to Fairfax for haircuts. While taking turns with haircuts, we spent time at the park in Fairfax. The swings and jungle gym were a hit, but the digger was Rylan’s favorite. We are home now and unwinding and evening though it’s gorgeous outside, our time will be limited, as Harrison will be mowing soon. Looks like tomorrow will be a day about Rylan again-another extra small daycare day for our upcoming Friday!
Prompt pick up this afternoon for visitation. We checked on the goats right away this morning, but with the muddy field, we had to walk in instead of drive in. It was raining, so Tori and I trekked to the timber while Harrison and the kids stayed dry in the vehicle. We did a quick check and feeding for Simba and then we went back home to play inside. We then took Harrison to his voice lesson (next week, we are going to see if we can go walk around their farm and pond while Harrison is at his lesson). We then came home and the sun was trying to come out, so the kids played on the front deck while I prepped lunch. They had a blast racing cars. For lunch, we ate chicken nuggets, green beans and apples. Rylan left after lunch was over, then we cleaned up and played outside until the wind picked up and then the rain came with it. We are inside watching The Lorax and playing with toys right now.
Tomorrow-8:30 goat check, 10:30 voice lessons and prompt pick up for visitation. We JUST beat the rain for our morning goat check, then took Harrison to go work for a farm friend. It was an indoor play day for sure! We had blocks, Legos, animals, cars, babies...you name it, we had it out! We just had three today, Max stayed home, but then our small group even downsized more! Charleigh and Corbin left after lunch. This afternoon has been free play, cartoons and chilling while we watch the rain pour down. Stay dry if you can!
Happy Monday! Happy Summer! Sorry for the delay today-no nappers means no breaks in the fun! We started off with a trip to check on the goats, then we dropped Harrison off in Shueyville to work and then we went to Tractor Supply to buy more ducks! Tori sat with the kids while I ran in to buy them quickly (staying safe from visiting places). We then picked up the gas can from Heath’s truck (he forgot to leave it for us) and then we went home and set up the duck area for our 6 new baby ducks! We stayed outside in the backyard shade and played until lunch time. We ate meatballs, applesauce and sweet potato fries for lunch. After lunch, we put our swim gear on and then hit the front yard to play in the sprinkler, with squirt guns and other toys. Some enjoyed water play and others chose the shade tree with toys. While outside, Harrison called for a work pick up, so we grabbed him then came home to play outside some more. We are inside, changed back into our clothes and enjoying fruit smoothies and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, as a snack right now. I think they are all tuckered out, because they just asked if they could watch a show after snack and chill. Summer sun and tired eyes this afternoon! ☀️
PARTY DAY TOMORROW! 10-1 Whew! It’s a hot one today! We were outside early and stayed out until lunch time, so now we are in and cooling off. We picked up our final grab and go lunch, it was pasta, apricots, bread sticks and corn. It was pretty yummy and a nice change from some of the other meals. We’ll be sending home the final breakfast today, too. We’ll head back out to play after naptime and I might even try to convince the kids to help set up goat fencing!😜 Stay cool out there and don’t forget to grab “last day of school” photos for the scrapbooks!📸
Weekly fees due tomorrow. We played outside, but kept to the cement areas since it was so muddy from the morning storms. ⛈ We prepped a gift basket to give to the Ely Grab and Go Meal volunteers, too. We delivered it to them when we went to pick up today’s lunch. They were very appreciative of the gift of goodies. We had pancakes, omelets, hash browns and bananas for lunch, today. We just got Maddox down for an afternoon siesta, so we’ll unwind for a bit and plan to go back outside later. Those gnats were in a mission this morning, so we would happily accept a good breeze to help keep them away. I’ll be sending out another email in regards to Friday’s party! Be on the lookout.
Friday, 10-1, is our Annual Cookout for the kids! We’ll be playing outside, grilling out and celebrating the end of school! We are heading back outside after eating lunch and winding down for a bit. We were outside all morning and loving it! Even though it’s warm, we have a great breeze and lots of shade! For lunch, we ate rib patties, garlic bread, pears and sweet potato fries. Stay cool and be sure to bring in your supplies for Friday!
June 1st already! Monthly and Bi-Monthly fees due today. Our Monday started pretty dreary, but it looks to be drying out and warming up now. We just got the littles down for a nap, so we’ll give them some time to unwind and we’ll be heading outside soon! We enjoyed indoor free play this morning and everyone was happy doing their own things, so I just let them go since it was so dreary out. For lunch, we had max cheese sticks, pears and carrots. We are going to put together a gift basket for the volunteers that have been handing out lunches here in Ely. We’ll be taking it to them either Wednesday or Thursday to thank them for all that they did for us!
For Friday’s Party (10-1): Petersons: 2 packages hot dogs and buns Linn: 2 bags of chips Norman: Strawberries Frese: Watermelon VanDee: Ice Cream Cups Rooff: Drinks |
