Today was definitely a RAINY DAY FUN kind of day! We had some extra play time with our weather, but it was all fun! We played with the wooden blocks, the scarves (which became hats and skirts), the tunnel and the balance beam! FUN, FUN, FUN!!! We talked about spiders, the farm and more Halloween fun during Calendar and Circle Time. As Zoe said it, for our 'ah-bitty' time (aka Activity Time) we worked on our portfolios, the letters D, E and F. We also made homemade playdough!!! Our plan was to make Orange Playdough, but we got creative and made Pumpkin Pie Playdough, so it's a little pinkish colored! But, boy oh boy, was it fun to play with!!!
Reminder: Tomorrow is SHOW & TELL (anything), we'll work on our Clifford Magazine and we'll be making a trip into City Carton and the bank in the morning.

A little cloudy, but not enough to put a damper on our fun! We were busy inside with Calendar/Circle Time and talked more about the letter E, sheep and goats and we sang the song, Baa Baa Black Sheep. We reviewed our vocabulary words and had fun with more Halloween songs and books! We read a book about Clifford and his Halloween fun! Five Little Pumpkins is sounding soooo good! The kids are really getting into the actions for our song! Because of how the weather looked, we flip flopped our morning routine so that we could get outside before any rain drops fell! Today was our first day going down and back up from the mailbox, stroller free!!!! Typically, this isn't such a big feat, but with the hill we have, and the little legs on our kiddos, that is a HUGE feat! It kind of reminded me of the opening of Little House on the Prairie, watching all of them walk/run/tumble down the hill! Thankfully, no tears and lots of giggles!!! We also got to see AIR FORCE ONE fly overhead....so amazing every time we see it! For our project today, we made Milk Cow Puppets! The kids all know the sound a cow makes!
Fun, fun and another GORGEOUS day!!! We love this nice, fall weather! It was a little breezy outside this morning, but thankfully it was from the south, so when we played in the backyard, the house blocked a lot of the wind! Zoe and Kaitlyn mastered going THROUGH the tunnel to climb to the slide so they went around and around on the jungle gym! Ally and Drew stuck to the ladder, but then Drew decided to give the tunnel a shot and he did it, too! He was still a little leary of it though, so then he went back to the ladder! For our indoor fun, we did our Faith Lesson today and then we made a Jesus Heals Flip Chart. We used wikki stix to make a cross, we glued sand for a road, and we glued yarn on for ropes! Lots and lots of fun with coloring and glueing! We talked more about the farm and introduced the number 6. We worked on our new sign language word, too...ALL DONE! Have a great afternoon!
An earlier post since daycare is done in about 30 minutes...I'll update while they eat! We had a wonderful morning of fun! The 'little' boys weren't here today, but the 'little' girls still had lots of fun (even with cars and tools)! ;-) Sydney was here again today and since Sydney, Harrison and Tori don't get a lot of play time together anymore, they REALLY enjoyed their morning of play! Once we went outside, we went for a long walk and enjoyed nature! We picked BIG leaves, watched a chipmunk eat a walnut and watched a squirrel try to get a walnut and then we watched as Sconey watched the squirrel...OH MY! Thankfully, we didn't see anything gruesome....just the squirrel 'yelling' at Sconey from the treetop! The kids had blast playing outside, and some even had to change clothes (it was still muddy from our weekend rain)! That's okay though, it was all fun! Have a great afternoon and thank you for the half day...we have lots of appointments planned and lots of errands to run before we come home to go

Reminder: Monday is a HALF DAY! Daycare will close at 12:30 on Monday!
We had a great ORANGE and BLACK day, today!!! We had teddy bears, pumpkins, gourds, jack o lanterns and penguins come to play with us today!!! We took off to the bank first thing this morning and then came home to get our routine going. We had Sydney here today and the younger kids just LOVED having her here! We talked about cows and we sang the song, Farmer in the Dell. We also worked on our fun Halloween songs and reviewed our Barnyard songs! We also got to watch Marty (a friend of ours), combine the corn in the field next to us! It's always fun to watch BIG equipment at REMINDER: Show & Tell Something Orange OR Black tomorrow!!
We couldn't have asked for better weather for the Pumpkin Patch, today! It was simply GORGEOUS outside!!! The kids had fun chasing the kitty around the pumpkin patch and we also walked around and looked at all of the creatures they have hidden in their yard (a lot of metal artwork). Everyone got a pumpkin to bring home and a small pumpkin gourd, too. Hopefully, we will have time this afternoon to spruce up our pumpkins before they go home!! We enjoyed the beautiful weather and took advantage of being outside in the fresh air! On the way home, we took the 'back roads' and traveled along the river's edge on Ellis Blvd. The colors were outstanding!!! Then, we took some more back roads the rest of the way home....did you hear us??? We gave a 'shout out' as we went by where our mommies and daddies work!!! We shouted out to Max (Highway Equipment), Heath (Conveyor), Kristi and Monica (College Community...we were hoping Monica was there today) and Cathy (Kirkwood). Corbin's mommy and daddy don't work close by, so we gave a shout out to Cooper (his doggie) as we drove through Ely and by their house! Have a great a FIELDTRIP TOMORROW!!!! Dress for the weather, we will be outside from about 9:30ish until we get back home, 11:30ish! Don't forget to bring your $2.00 CASH for the Pumpkin Patch!
We had a fun morning, but several of the kiddos seemed to be a little extra tired/whiny (I am REALLY hoping this isn't a sign of an oncoming sickness)!!! Keep your fingers crossed and use the hand sanitizer by the sign in/out board if you wish!!! ;-) Despite the extra whimpers and tears this morning, we did have a fun morning...we learned a new Spanish word, granja (which means farm). We also had fun singing our Over in the Barnyard Song. We read the book, Mary Had a Little Lamb and of course, we practiced our Five Little Pumpkins song (several times)! For our project, we made a Wise Owl! We glued velvet pieces to an owl shape and then taped it to a stick. We had fun playing Peek A Boo through the owl's eyes and practicing our owl sounds! After our morning fun, we headed outside and grabbed some fresh air!!! The ground was still a little damp from yesterday's rain, but we still had lots and lots of fun playing outside! Sorry...the REMINDER wasn't that the kids played hard and were tired!!! Not sure what happened, but I had typed that the reminder was that our fieldtrip to Goodlove Pumpkin Patch is THURSDAY and everyone needs to bring $2.00 CASH for their kiddos! again, sorry!!!
Reminder: Everyone should be really tired this afternoon, we played hard outside!!! Before we headed out, we did our usual Calendar/Circle Time (which I just LOVE seeing them 'grow' at)! Before we were even done with our 'sit down' song, Drew was clicking his tongue (which goes with our song for the days of the week)! Before we were done with the days of the week song, Zoe was pointing out the window (our weather song comes next)! Such smart litttle cookies we have here!!! Our number we focused on was the Number 5, so we sang our FAVORITE Halloween song, The Five Little Pumpkins!!! I think we will have this song mastered in a couple of weeks! We worked on our Faith Lesson and read our book, Four Faithful Friends and talked about Jesus healing us and taking care of us. At the end of our Faith Lesson, always comes our prayer and before I even said it, Ally had her hands folded and was looking down....so sweet! For our project today, we did hand over hand tracing with my help and then we made First Aid Kits. If you hear them all saying AAAAAHHHH, we practiced that several times as we taped our tongue depressors to our kits! Have a SUPER Tuesday!!!
