STONE SOUP DAY IS TOMORROW! If you haven’t brought in your items, please do so right away tomorrow morning. Even though we could have easily gone outside to play today, we were so busy inside, we didn’t have time! Maybe this afternoon! After free play, we started our day talking about being thankful. We named things we are thankful for and we shared the story of the First Thanksgiving. We even sang a new song, I AM THANKFUL. We also read two different versions of the book, STONE SOUP. For our project, we made Thankful Headbands and colored and glued them together. Each feather in their hate has something they are thankful for on it. It was cute to hear them say what they are thankful for. 🥰 Next, we did an online book and listened to GIRAFFE’S CAN’T DANCE. Next, Stone Soup prepping began. We used some cool kitchen appliances and prepped our apples, first. We made homemade applesauce so that we can have it with our soup, tomorrow. Next, we snapped green beans, peeled and cut potatoes, peeled and cut onions and peeled and cut carrots. Everyone helped cut (with assistance) except for Charleigh and Corbin, they were the BIG kids, so they were able to use our “learning knives” and cut things on their own. Tomorrow morning, we’ll start putting everything in the pot together and cook our soup all morning long for our lunchtime feast! We’ll make our pumpkin bars either this afternoon or tomorrow morning-yum yum, for tomorrow’s dessert. For lunch, we ate Salisbury Steak, green beans and bananas. After quiet book time, I read SURPRISE! Ask the kids who through a surprise welcome party and how it turned out! 🐻🦝🐿 Enjoy your afternoon, I think mine will be quiet-lots of tired eyes this morning!
