Outdoor Time is GREAT for fresh air, sunshine and burning off wiggles! Please make sure your child has a coat, hat and mittens every day! (Even with predicted warmer temps today, that wind is fierce and it only felt like 34° when we went outside to play)💨 H is for hippopotamus (try teaching that word to 2 and 3 year olds!) We added another “sunny” to the weather chart and reviewed our shape, rectangle. For Show and Tell, we had several very creative items! I love how the kids search for their shapes and colors! Awesome job! We talked all about hippos and that in Africa, they are known to be one of the most dangerous animals! 🦛 The kids colored and glued their hippo and added marshmallow teeth and grey felt for the skin. The kids were busy building with trio blocks while we waited for our school age friends to arrive. Once they were all here, outside to play! We had an outdoor kitchen and restaurant, the older kids added on to their fort with BIG branches from all over the yard and the glider was used a lot, too! Fresh air is best! For lunch, we had homemade waffles, orange smiles and yogurt. After clean up and quiet time, it was story time. I read, WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS and then the discussion of the music from the Beatles began (since this book was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney). With that said, our music lesson began...and the kids thought I was crazy! We listened to a few songs by The Beatles and then they even got to watch a video of them in 1964, and since it was in black and white, it was SUPER old!🤣
